Honestly, what's the point? Not like we can control if someone sticks around or not.

The point is that we get to be statistics to a world that hates us, a world that fears us, a world that calls us fat lards with man-titties.

I like to squeeze my man-titties so hard, that milk comes out. And I sometimes squeeze the milk into a tall glass, and them I open up a pack of oreos, and dip the oreos inside the milk for about 10-15 seconds just so it gets moist enough. Then I eat the delicious oreo.

You can't control it, but the theory is that you can influence it if you are particularly welcoming and helpful.

On a serious matter, having the novice statistics is a great way of competing with your fellow support leaders and getting motivation to actual be involved in helping your novices.

Do you actually believe in this theory?

Of course. That such an influence exists is pretty reasonable to state. Of course, it is probably not very appreciable or worth the investment in time to actively pursue. Fun fact: The only time I won the "novice retention award" was when I was on vacation away from a computer the majority of the time.

LOL. Most of my novices don't even read the automatic messages sent to them.. so I don't see a point in trying to message them and sweet talk them into staying.

Yeah i'm starting to think if i should start messaging my novices or not. Because seriously, NONE of them since i have been a SL have stayed. It's bs. :(

Its goes up and down every day. You could have a 6.5 one day and 2.1 the next. Crazy.

all noob SLs make topics about novices. It's like the mark of a noob........................kidding

One of my novices yelled at me and called me a bad SL for not customizing my welcome message. :( I always laugh when I win that since I don't have a welcome message and I never even look at my novices, never mind message them. :/ It really is pointless.
