My brand new laptop keeps freezing. It first happened when a friend had it on a bed and was playing music and using firfox. It was getting bounced around a little bit from girl hopping on the bed. It freezes after about 20 minutes. But does not freeze in safe mode. It freezes when I try to restore the system to an earlier point. Is the problem from being bounced about do you think, i.e. a problem with the physical part of the computer or is it a problem with sodtware. But it freezes no matter what program I am in after 20 mins. But does not freeze in safe mode. And is there anyway I can just bring the computer back to the way it was exactly when I bought it? Do you think that would solve it?

Why not just keep it in safe mode until you take it in to a professional.

Take it back to where you got it. If it's brand new, it shouldn't be doing that.

Is the girl stupid first of all I wouldn't bounce around a laptop. One thing i'v noticed with laptops is if you drop them ext something usually goes wrong with the hardware. Mine was steped on once by my three year old sister along time ago when I had one and from then on it wouldn't load past the windows xp screen and would just stay frozen like that.. I'd suggest going to a computer shop and telling them what happend maybe they'll repair whatever it is or you'll have to get something replaced. It sounds like it could be the mother board but I could be wrong.

If it was a physical problem with the computer, it probably wouldn't work at all. The fact that it works fine in safe mode makes me think there is a program on there that is jamming up your computer. You could bring it back and ask them if they could reset the harddrive (assuming you don't have too many important things on there)

Yeah I would take it back since it is brand new there is usually a 90 day return policy depending on where you get it of course

Well I set it back to its factory settings and it seems to be working ok now.
