The Cadillac CTS-V has already proven that its impressive power stats translate nicely to the track with sub-8 minute 'Ring times and a 0-60 time of 3.9 seconds. The General is also positioning its new 556-hp halo sedan as a performance bargain, having announced today that it will go on sale around November 1 with a starting price of just $59,995. That's more than $40,000 cheaper than the less powerful XLR-V, and we'd argue the CTS-V is more attractive with its v2.0 Art and Science styling and works much better as a daily driver with its back seat and usable trunk. The CTS-V also makes the larger $80,900 STS-V sedan completely irrelevant considering its 86-hp power advantage, improved aesthetics and quicker moves. Even the vaunted BMW M5 with its higher starting price of $83,900 and less powerful 500-hp 5.0L V10 engine can't touch the CTS-V in price or performance.
What do you guys think ? For a car with this kind of power, the interior was trimmed by the people who did the Veyron, and the fact that it's this good looking for that small of a price, I think it's a great value and an amazing car for the price.

I'm a fan. If I had the money, I'd get one. Only a matter of time before that goth faggot guy says Honda could do better.

I don't much care for the shape of the car. The bumper looks like Jay Leno's chin. :S

Let's put it this way. For a car that is in the neighborhood of performance numbers that your average 2000-2005ish Porsche 911 twin turbo AWD , that's four doors, and a big ass car.. I think it's quite good :P

What what? I don't think the car looks that pretty. Definitely not $60K pretty personally. I mean, I don't know much about cars. A car is a car is a car to me, so I tend to pick them on superficial qualities.

See to me this seems so typical American car, like in that quote you had, it seemed like all they cared about was horsepower, how is the comfort and all that? To be honest i don't like American cars for luxury, id buy one only the real horsepower cars or a truck, like a dodge viper or a ford truck. I'd rather have a Mercedes or BMW to be honest over that.

If you knew anything this car like all other performance orientated Caddies has been tuned in Germany. Top gear(European tv show) even showed how much it pwns Europe's best. Plus Vipers are known to be good an handling so idk wtf your smoking, i think u just hate the idea of American car and good in the same sentence. IMO even if it costs MORE then the Mercedes and BMW competition it would seem a better buy as these are at least made to last over a period of one year before there just electronic garbage.

your probably right in terms of that tuning and liking American cars(cause i don't know too much about em), but i have been in Cadillac's like the CTS and STS and I mean they are nice cars, but I dunno they just don't seem like you are paying for real luxury in them, they don't look like anything real nice. However, as i said i do like American trucks and some sports cars. Also i have not seen this car in real life(if its even out), so if i judged this car in anyway my bad.

When I can get a BMW or Benz with the same power / badass looks / overall awesomness for the same price as that Caddy, let me know.
-- Posted by FTF at 7:59 am on Oct. 24, 2008
Yeah, thats the thing. Not only is this car as luxurious as any European or Asian luxury car, but it actually looks good. Something no Lexus or BMW has ever been able to accomplish.
-- Posted by TechBee at 3:26 pm on Oct. 24, 2008
i like it but i think i like the older cts v better
-- Posted by MrRight at 6:06 pm on Oct. 25, 2008
You can pick up a 2003 cts for $14,000 or less. Doesn't give me a warm feeling inside when I paid $60,000 to begin with.
