It is idiotic to either hate or be proud of a condition that 1. Cannot be changed 2. Is inherent 3. You had nothing to do with.
I'm white from Germany - so what? I'm proud my ancestors grew up where they did? Why. I'm proud of German culture - why - I had nothing to do with it.
Be proud of what you accomplish, what you stand for, your ability. Being proud of things like how much or little melanin you produce or what people you've never met have done is pointless.
So it's moronic for a father to be proud of his son when he does well in a sport? He can't make him do better/worse, as he can't really control his child while he's playing.

I simply think that having pride in something you have no control or say over is pointless. How can you put such value into something you had no part of? Racial pride is simply something people use when they have nothing to bring to the table as individuals. The modern day bigots want to be worshipped for something they didn't do.

If pride were limited to one's own accomplishments, then one could be proud of nothing. For everything we are is not of our own doing - we are a product of our genes and our environment. As we do not select our genes or our environment, everything we do is a product of forces beyond our control. Thus, someone who writes a novel and wins a Nobel prize cannot be proud of it, as it is born from the particular traits bestowed by the interplay of genes and environment, as well as later environment circumstances which directed their interests towards particular pursuits, and aided the development thereof.
Jazzy Jeff, YOU must accept one of two conclusions: 1. There is nothing wrong with taking pride in things beyond one's control. 2. No one should be proud of anything.

(Because writing a novel doesn't require hard-work and dedication. It's all about the "writing" gene.
Because someone with the "chubby" gene doesn't work his ass off to bring his weight down. It's all in his genes making him persistant in the way he eats and maintains his diet.
Each of these examples are different from being an ethnicity...they were done by choice. You don't choose to be black. You don't choose to be white.)
Funny how white people love to tell blacks to stop dwelling in the past and throwing the weight of guilt down on whites for the murders, lies, and exploitation since they were not the ones who suffered. Yet you want us all to personally acknowledge yourselves for the accomplishments of people in the past who happened to be white that weren't yourselves. You're just another white teenager whose grown insensitive to people different from you and need a way to feel important.

You don't choose many things that influence what you accomplish. Can a natural athlete be proud of himself? There are people that are born with no chance of being great athletes. No matter how much dedication they put in, even if it's 1/2 as much as the next guy, they won't be as good as him. They did not select this, but it HAPPENED.

There is no reason not to be proud of ones race. People are proud of their children all the time, they didn't choose every aspect of the child, did they? The child has a functioning brain capable of making its own decisions - but that doesn't stop them from being proud of them.

Ummm, I live in an area where Whites are the minority. I'm sure they don't see the world in any way but hispanic, hispanic, hispanic, hispanic.
You see, I am proud to be White. Hispanics are proud to be Hispanic. One is accepted, the other isn't.
The world should be fair with everyone treated equally - this has yet to happen.

I did not say "racial pride" is stupid exclusively to whites. In my opinion...racial pride with any ethnicity is ridiculous in itself. I was just pointing out why white pride enthusiasts always self-defeat their purpose by associating white pride with racism. How is a society that frowns upon racism going to accept white pride when white pride means, "I am better than all of you".
And if I must point out an example to you why whites continue to have it so bad in their need to be proud...
"we absolutely need to acknowledge that white people have the intelligence, creativity and discipline that other races don't have. if we don't accept this truth and stop breeding with others, then what will become of the world?"

Racial pride(or self pride) is as necesary as having pride in your skills an attributes, intelligence, etc. .Its necesary in creating self confidence. Parents should always teach about the things their grandparents accomplished so their children can step into the world an wont be knocked down. This is called 'Knowledge of Self' (Google it). But its only necesary to teach 'My people contributed in making the world just like yours'

This can all be done if people weren't so obsessed with division. I was inspired reading and learning about people like Patrick Henry or places like Rome when I was a kid. I'm black. Does the fact that they're white have to hinder me from being proud I am also human as they are and may possess the capabilities needed to succeed as they did or do the things they did?
Racial pride isn't needed for growth or self-confidence...racial pride is needed for making fun of whitey his "dick is smaller" or making fun of blackie his "brain is tinier".

Every other group happens to be lumped into two extremes and whites stay in the middle efficient and diverse.
Did you ever stop to think it may be true and they're simply being honest?
No...not after I crawled out of my closet and stopped believing everything I read on the internet or believing everything my mama told me about jeebus and santa claus.
They say stereotypes are made for a reason.....whites are stereotyped as "conniving and extremely deceptive".
For a couple of conniving and extremely deceptive people you're stocking a lot of faith into them.
All these statistics created by whites and in each of them, whites outshine everyone else with piercing diversity in every attribute. So whites are the only people being honest?
