I went with a bunch of friends. Walked around for a bit and got bored. Found a guy to buy us some beers and took retarded MySpace pictures. I don't know why I'm writing this, but I kind of wanted to start a topic. So I decided to write about my day.

Uneventful, yeah. Uh, maybe you could take from this that other "exotic" places really aren't more fun, it's just the greener side of the grass.

THEY DRINK BEER IN JERUSALEM?!

Do they also piss on Jesus' grave?

-- Posted by barnabas at 1:06 pm on Oct. 19, 2008

I would love to go to Jerusalem. Did you go to the wailing wall? did you go to the church of the holy sepulcher? Did you go to the dome of the Rock?

-- Posted by libertine at 1:06 pm on Oct. 19, 2008

I've been there before, but a long time ago. Vibrant city, to use much understatement.

They don't know where Jesus' grave is. They thought they found it up north a few years ago and my dad almost pissed himself laughing because according to the archaeological evidence he had a son.

Lol, no. Why would we do that? If we went to the wall we'd have to cover up, which would suck, and there's nothing to do there. They split up girls and guys and everyone around you is all emotional. The church is pretty, but we're not exactly the "museum type." And the dome is totally inaccessible, we'd be killed if we tried to go up. There's lines and lines of soldiers guarding it. We wouldn't want to go up anyway, we try to stay away from the Arabs. They preach too much hatred and it gets tiring.

Well, it has a lot of tourist attractions. But when you're a bored teenager living there, there isn't much to do really.

Everywhere is Jesus' grave when you're drunk. But specifically when you're in Jerusalem.

Live somewhere quieter, and I'm sure you'll see the difference and miss jerusalem immediately.

Not really. I mean, you can see it from the wall, but it's on this huge hill looking over it on the right, and all along the hill are so many soldiers it's sometimes sort of hidden.

Oh, haha, it's not that. The first couple of times it was amazing, and it can still be cool sometimes. But it's definitely not an activity to do with friends when you're just in the mood to hang out or have fun or whatever. Plus I've just been there so many times, it's not all that special anymore.

I do live somewhere quieter. I love the atmosphere, with all the street musicians and different kinds of people. But I was with loads of guys, and they're not exactly the shopping and people watching type of people.
