I had a random thought: why do we humans consider ourselves the dominant species on earth? On what basis was this decided? It can't be because of opposable thumbs, as apes have them as well. It can't be because of our intellect, as dolphins are smarter than we are. It can't be because of our ability to build things, as many animals build their own homes, like birds. It can't be because of our ability to breed rapidly, as rabbits have us beat by a long shot. So on what basis could it have been decided?

Animals don't fly to moon and stuff. Anyway, I guess it is because of our ability to change the environment to our liking, and accumulate knowledge through generations.

Well for one thing, we are far more intelligent than any another animals. We have the ability to destroy the world. We basically have many traits other animals don't have, maybe that's why man tend to think they are superior.
