I think you'd benefit more from the dorms, especially your first year. Because you live ON campus so you don't feel like you need to rush home, you can walk to your classes and not worry about spending on gas, and you're in a place with a bunch of other new college students and it's a lot easier to make friends because you LIVE with them.

So you are saying that its better to PAY MONEY to live with people that there is a high chance of them not liking you and becoming friends with them rather than stay home with parents FREE OF CHARGE?

I think it's worth it. Yeah, there's a chance they won't like you, but I guarantee someone will, you know, as long as you're not a shut-in and gone every weekend. Then it's really no point except for the convenience of walking to your classes.

Yeah that percent chance of liking is probably well under 10%

Honestly, it's not THAT hard to make friends. Even if they aren't on your floor....and this is coming from a generally shy person. People are usually nice at the beginning, and if you're nice back, THERE YA GO! New friend. Or join a club, there's HUNDREDS at college, and living in the dorm is convenient there too, because you could just be like "Let's walk back to my room" and THERE YA GO! The dorms are worth the money if you can get it.
