Last night, I stayed up until 12:40, mostly on Livewire, then I went to bed. This morning, I wake up, and my dad (who is a mechanic and usually has other people's stuff in his garage) tells me that his bike and the neighbour's bike has been stolen. Dad doesn't remember if he locked the screen and wooden doors that go into the garage, but it doesn't matter. They still entered OUR property and took the bikes. They didn't do anything else, meaning they KNEW where the bikes were. I feel so sick because I went down when dad was shutting up his garage and was talking to him, so I was the one who distracted him if he didn't lock it. I thought I lived around really great people. But how can I now? These people were WATCHING us. Plus, I might have been awake when they did it. I heard some noises last night but they usually occur so I don't know. My dad spent so much time and money on his bike. He fixed it. He painted it. He put a new seat on. Everything. He tells me he's ok but I can see he's not. And the worst part - I don't know how I can feel safe in my own house now. Can someone tell me how I'm supposed to do that now?

We can't tell you how to be safe, but what we can tell you is that this is not your fault, okay? You didn't tell those people to come and rob your house, okay? You had no way of predicting this was going to happen, and I'm sure your father does not blame you. Hopefully, the police will be able to track down your dad's bike, just hope for that.
