I think it has a lot to do with minorities sticking together and treating each other well because of the fact that they're, indeed, minorities, whereas white's have somewhat of a superiority complex toward other races (be it sub-conscious or not). Now of course that doesn't apply to ALL white people, just as minorities sticking together doesn't apply to ALL minorities. But this is generally speaking. I have a lot of friends that are white, a lot of friends that are black, and a lot of friends that are hispanic. Theres really no other kind of race in my school, but if there was I wouldn't be rude.
