A bunch of girls in my year have arranged an xmas party for us in December at some club in Twyford... We have to wear cocktail attire and can only bring dates from the brother school.

I really don't want to go, I hate 95% of my peers, I don't like the brother school guys, I don't want to waste my money on a dress (and effing limo), I don't like their shitty music or their weak drinks.... but I promised my friends that I would go. One of my friends is really into it so I am just humouring her. Everyone is going on and on about their dresses, make-up and hairstylists and it's really bothering me.

Should I go? I doubt I will be very fun, I would just sit there mocking everyone and getting pissed.... But do I have an obligation to my friend?

Gah

If you're planning on sitting there and being pissy so that everyone else's night is ruined don't go.

I may regret it... that's the point. What if, in ten years time I look back on secondary school and ask myself why I didn't make an effort with people/ socialize with them?
