She didn't show up, and I was the only one there without my parents or my family members. I'm community service project manager, and it would have actually meant a lot for her to be there. But she wasn't, and I was kind of upset the entire time. People looked at me kind of sympathetically which was weird. Afterwards, one of my closest friends, her parents, and I went out for dinner and ice cream, and it made me feel more like crap about my family. Because even though her parents are divorced (like mine), they actually care about her and are able to come together and be there for an important thing in her life (she's vice president of DECA). My family sucks.
