Would I have to pay every now and then? Is it a lot? I know I could ask the bank but I'll do that later..

Asking the bank would be a lot more beneficial then asking us.

Credit card: you pay usually at the beginning or at the end of the month. Debit card: you can only spend money that you have on that card, so if you make a deposit for 500$, you only have those 500$ to spend and you don't pay anything at the end of the month.

There's different rules depending on where you get it, how much you have to have in the account, how many transfers you can do etc. But if you follow the rules and it shouldn't cost anything. You should get one though, it's a good first step in money managment.

You don't have to pay a balance for your debit card as you can only spend what it in your account. There's also usually a limit on the amount you can withdraw, and, if you don't have a youth or student account, there are fees to use your card over a certain amount. You questions should be aimed at the bank of choice. Not us.

Debits and young people are just trouble on the way. I suggest getting a job and investing.
