I've never done drugs in my life, not even weed, never been drunk. But I'm bored. I feel the need of wanting to be relaxed and feel something trippy, that's outrageous but realistic to me. Feel me? If I were to, I would not tell anyone, my friends would probably stop interacting with me. Is it a good escape?

I'm 16.

If your in HS and havnt touched weed stay clean dude

-- Posted by roflfuckyou at 9:39 pm on Nov. 14, 2008

don't do drugs if you haven't even been drunk before.

-- Posted by LudovicoTechnique at 9:40 pm on Nov. 14, 2008

Don't do drugs, you don't have the money or connections.

-- Posted by JasonGuy at 9:40 pm on Nov. 14, 2008

try punching people and lighting things on fire. works for me!

-- Posted by blufindr at 9:41 pm on Nov. 14, 2008

No. I wouldn't recommend it.

connections.

how do you suppose i could get that?

-- Posted by dreamerofoz at 9:43 pm on Nov. 14, 2008

It's a terrible escape. You shouldn't do drugs because you need an escape... just like you're not supposed to self mutilate for the same issue.

hugs, not drugs .

Yeah... no.  I wouldn't recommend starting, they're fun but they're not worth it.  Do something more productive for fun.  Start running or working out and enjoy the endorphin rush, i prefer it to a weed high.

I agree with this.

I use but I feel that when going through a stage of being happy and fulfilled (doesn't happen often) I don't need to take the risks involved with using drugs.

I would still drink just because for me that isn't as harmful. I take ecstasy and it's damages my brain and emotional state, I'm fairly sure and in the long-run just makes me want it again and probably makes me less able to feel that connectedness to other people naturally.

you dont always have to be using drugs as a form of escape.  you can have a great life and still use drugs.

-- Posted by Catacomb at 10:12 am on Nov. 15, 2008

Bullshit. Even drugs that take you away from reality don't have to be an escape from reality; "escape" denotes that you're leaving because you don't like reality, not because you do like where you're going instead.

-- Posted by PewPew at 5:21 pm on Nov. 15, 2008

You should try it really.

i thought your reply was humorous even though it was stupid

From what you posted, I'd say don't start them.

You should enjoy being 16 without adding this kind of complication to it.  Besides, you'll have more to "escape" from once you're older.  And I don't think you should sacrifice your friendships over something like this.  Chances are in a few years they'll be curious about drugs too anyway.

because an escape is an escape regardless of your feelings towards where you go and what you leave behind.

the denotation is something you see and choose to react to in a defensive manner out of reflex

this is probably because the overwhelming majority of drug users are dysfunctional reality hating creatures.

-- Posted by Skip at 4:50 pm on Nov. 16, 2008

the phrase has a negative connotation to it you moron
you're not smart

-- Posted by Catacomb at 5:04 pm on Nov. 16, 2008

you mean the word not the phrase
i realize that.
you're escaping the confinement of a brain in its 'normal state'/current state

not all confinement is negative, how is a 'normal state' negative

-- Posted by Skip at 5:07 pm on Nov. 16, 2008

i meant the phrase
when people say "drugs are an escape" it has a negative connotation
the word actually is very neutral in its connotation
