I feel that I may have a slight case of ADD or something. I'm a freshman in college, and I just find it impossible to pay attention in class or study. I used to be able to do this fine in high school..up until around junior year or so. I find myself day dreaming about something else, and then realize..oh shit, I just missed everything this teacher is saying. This happens every day. I know I can get myself tested..but wonder what you guys think.

I have ADD. And I don't know, talk to a doctor.

Well, what good would that do if you got yourself tested? Even if you were diagnosed with ADD? You're aware that you're daydreaming, so just try to fix it yourself.

I think you just have a short attention span. See your doctor for a diagnosis?

Its not something you can fix yourself, its because you dont get enough dopamine to your brain..

Look up neuroplasticity. Studies suggest you CAN fix these things yourself. In my opinion, medication is usually not a good answer because your brain will not only never correct itself, but there will never be any need for it to. Drugs like that are a crutch for the brain.

ADD is a psychological thing (like many other labels) You only have it if you believe you have it. (Its all in your mind) I used to have problems focusing because I believed I had it. Now I have no problems focusing, because I no longer believe that I have it. People that "believe" they have something wrong with them, will have something wrong with them, because they believe that they do.

Freud says "go get laid. You are subconsciously wanting to know your new peers."

It's just a lack of concentration - drink less caffeine and cut down on the sugar and you'll be fine.

If you wanna check if you have ADD or whatever, get your hands on some Adderall or 54mg methlyenidate (Ritalin). If you get a high and have alot of energy and feel the need to want more, you probably don't have ADD. I take Adderall, but it slows my thought processes down enough so that Ican do what needs to be done (i.e. homework, reading, etc.)

When you don't have the time and patients to go find out if you do. Just kidding, (I know it's not a matter to joke about but I couldn't help it). The only way to know is to get tests. 54
