Decent questions you should be able to answer. -Can you tell the difference between an Almohad and a Seljuq? -Do you know who replaced the Byzantine Empire? -What is the title of the leader of the Ottomans? -What is a Moor? -Could you point out the Barbary coastline and the Balkans on a map?(Both in separate parts of Europe) These questions don't even touch ground as to their roles and histories, they just ask if you even know who they were. That is fortunate of me as I have read both because they were on a list of recommended reading for those interested in the history of warfare, along with Of Trojan Women, then more modern works such as Storm of Steel and The Fall of Fortresses. -- Posted by Blackadder at 2:09 pm on Nov. 16, 2008 My knowledge of The Byzantines and The ottomans is essentailly limited to the facts that:   Mehmed II started with the wheel and agriculture. He was very organised and expansive, which means that he got courthouses bloody quick and faster workers. But he sucks compared to Suleimin because suliemin gets great scientists twice as fast.   Justinin Sucks balls because Hippodromes are not Hammams   Anyone how does not know this about eithier civilization does not deserve to be on this plannet, and probably wont win a space race.
