Yes. I got bored. And then I discovered Livewire.

It depends what I was doing with my life before the addiction. Not to condone addictions of any sort, but a state of sobriety when I had nothing to do and was effectively wasting away anyway made it worse - however the down sides of addictions are many. The fucked up things I've done because of addictions, and just general lack of self-control... mind you, I never seem to learn, either.

What, do I need to dumb it down for you to understand? Clearly you don't realize it doesn't matter the substance. An addict is an addict is an addict.

I didnt have headaches the way I do now. Now I'll have a headache and have to think about which addiction I've been neglecting. Also, I imagined addiction would be more of a monster, a physical ache, etc. It's more of a constant preoccupation and an inability to stop myself if a substance is available.

over the last 6 years, I've had addictions to caffeine, nicotine, opiates, and I think I need to come to terms with the fact that I'm an alcoholic. At least, I rarely go more than 15 hours without a drink.

I don't think that there's really an objective way to look at that. Looking back, I still would have been struggling with the same forces in my life that made me/allowed me to start smoking-drinking-popping-pills. So yeah, I'm not happy to be addicted but for now I'm resigned to itPr
