Is there any specific verse in the Bible prohibiting the use of the magic herb?

If so, which one?

Just curious.

No?

-- Posted by osmoticdespair at 1:54 pm on Nov. 16, 2008

No.
But there's stuff about being obedient to the law.

The church I use to attend claimed it's a product of the Devil and temptation, but I can't back it up with a biblical source.

So.
If a fella had run out of papes and wanted to roll a joint in something particularly ironic, there wouldn't be a specific page for him to rip out and roll his biffy in?

Completely hypothetical of course.

I might be off here but doesn't that specify that the law should be just as well?
Or something about how it's not so much national law as it is moral law?

idk.  My memory could be failing me.

No it says obey the law unless the law asks you to sin.
Since it's not a sin to abstain from smoking weed, you still need to obey according to God.
However if its legal to campaign feel free to campaign for legalisation.

Meh, just went with 1 Corinthians 6: 19-20 "Your body is a temple".

I mean. That's what I WOULD go with I were the person in question.

Thanks for the help.

"I have given you every herb bearing seed for you to use."
--Genesis 1:29

And I will raise up for them a plant of renown, and they shall be no more consumed with hunger in the land, neither bear the shame of the heathen any more. -- Ezekiel 34:29

The Lord said unto me, 'I will take my rest and I will consider in my dwelling place like a clear heat upon herbs.' " -- Isaiah 18:4-5

Yet the simple joys of drinking were also sung. He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth; And wine that maketh glad the heart of man and oil to make his face to shineth. (Psalm 104:14-15)

Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; that which cometh out of the mouth defileth a man." (Mat. 15:11)

Oh.  Ok then.
I'm probably thinking of something else.

Well to be fair, people have taken the bible in many ways. Although I cannot see how people can take what it says in defense of breaking the law when it would be no sin to obey, I am just one girl with her private judgment here. It's not like I'm the pope or even a third rate theologian.

Nope but there is plenty of drug use in that science fiction book.
