I've finally realized that my depression is caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain:

"

Whatever its cause, depression is not just a state of mind. It is related to physical changes in the brain, and connected to an imbalance of a type of chemical that carries signals in your brain and nerves. These chemicals are called neurotransmitters."

See, I copy pasted that from depression.com.

Since I have a medical illness, it's best that I get a licensed medical professional to treat the problem. I'm glad I can finally come to terms with my disease.

No, you're wrong. Your views cause stigma against people who have this serious medical condition.

Sarcasm?

No. My depression is caused by a scientifically correctable chemical imbalance in my brain, and I must enter chemicals into my brain to correct this chemical imbalance.

I have no clue whether it's bollocks or not, but I think for some people, believing it might be chemicals and not THEM does actually help more than wallowing around in their pain. a bit of a placebo in a way?

I am positive it's not ALWAYS related to chemicals though. Plenty of people get depressed for good reason. It's like the medical people who say these things are ruling out the possibility that people have feelings and can have legit reasons for feeling crap.

I don't think that's true at all. While people think that's the reason, it's just assigning blame for emotions that have no basis except in the brain. And it helps because it is right. Depression is a chemical imbalance in the brain. Science wouldn't lie.
