I am pregnant. I used to smoke, bleh, I have been craving one the last two days but I haven't smoked one yet so far. Not that big of an accomplishment to most, but seeing how I usually smoke near a pack a day, I feel great.

Problem is my boyfriend won't quit yet keeps saying some bullshit about having to "finish them first" and then quit. Including weed, I told him he better cut that shit down last month, and I have to go cold turkey on both, which I have.

Faggot. I told him that just because I was the one with the fetus in my belly, didn't mean he wasn't pregnant too.

Plus who can afford that shit anyways?

Give me some tips on how you quit?

Slap on a nicotine patch and stop buying ciggies.

Technically, it's growing in her uterus

Quitting things cold turkey is a bad idea.

Hmmm... I would talk to your doctor and see what he recommends for you to do.

If your boyfriend smokes, it would be a huge help towards you quitting if he did the same thing. As with most habits, it helps when you have a support buddy to be there for you and to help you stay in check with each other.

Having support from her family constantly helped her.

i just stopped when my boyfriend (now ex) told me to.
i was scared of his disapproval so i stopped.
i guess i just put my mind to it.

see if you can both do it together, just i don't know, if you don't want to get the patches, try the gum?

I'm not saying stay on it for a long time. Just for a week or two, until you find yourself more able to quit cold turkey.

I dunno what to do about your boyfriend :/  Um, tell the people you see often that you're trying to quit smoking and ask for their support - I've never been a smoker but it seems to me like it would be harder to go back on your decision if you've told everyone you're doing it and stuff. And tell yourself, by writing a note and sticking it to your wall or something - sounds silly but can sometimes help with staying firm to something.

Talking to a doctor sounds like a good idea.

Also, aren't there websites about quitting smoking? Have you checked out anything like that?

I wonder if any of the tips for quitting self-harm would help with smoking - they're often methods for distraction or replacing the desire. Maybe if you do something else each time you get a craving, you can train yourself a bit.

I haven't been in your position so my advice might be bull. Anyway take care, and I hope everything goes beautifully with teh babbeh.

As tiana said, you'll want to find a method for distraction whenever you start craving a cigarette.  Eat a piece of candy or chew on some gum, just to keep your mind busy, if nothing else.
