My computer monitor is set at the brightest (%100) and my TV for my living room is at its brightest too.. but these two are so dark.. I can't really look at stuff that well.. Has this happened to anyone else? is it because my TV and computer monitor are too old?

I'm saying that the image is not bright.. it's too dark.

We have blinds and they are always closed.. and we don't make the monitor or TV face any window.. you know, so we wouldn't get the window's reflection on the screen..

Is there a window behind it? That can make it very hard to see. You could also experiment with the light levels in the room: believe it or not, opening the blinds might actually make it easier to see. I spend the whole day fiddling with the blind to get the best light for the screen.

Did you check contrast? Also check with both monitor OSD (on screen display) settings and in the actual video-card set-up. I turn Gamma up a bit too, looks better.
