It has nothing to do with them not needing it. Odds are they do need help in some form or another. Practically every major company/corporation does. Even Harvard has showed it's being a total failure when it comes to investments.

You didn't ask but to bail them out would be fucking ridiculous. We are a supposed free market, companies come and go.

-- Posted by RIMHfire at 2:34 pm on Nov. 19, 2008

Because America failinggggg.

-- Posted by TruexZero at 2:34 pm on Nov. 19, 2008

Foreign cars are sold globally, and have higher quality than American cars. American cars can't be sold to half of the world because they don't meet the countries' standards.

You're incorrect.

Mercedes and BMW are not japanese cars.

And it's an embarrassment to list them with those car manufacturers.

Europe does it best.

Alfa Romeo
Aston Martin
Audi
Bentley
BMW
Citroën
Ferrari
Lamborghini
Lotus
Maserati
Mercedes-Benz
Porsche
Renault
Rolls Royce
Saab
Volkswagen

I'd agree with that to an extent. I think when it comes to the top performance cars, the italians just have it.

Italians take the cake for Exotic cars. But a good BMW can definitely race a Ferrari.

You're argument makes no sense what so ever. I'm not even going to waste my time with you. Any car enthusiast knows Europe makes the finest cars.

Till then, continue driving your piece of shit impala in automatic transmission.

What are you trying to prove idiot?

I've posted long ago that Europe is best, why would you even ATTEMPT to argue that?

GM, in particular, has way too many employees that are paid too highly with benefits/retirement packages that are too expensive, they have too many dealerships, and they make too many different cars/trucks that no one is buying.  Demand in the US has been shifting towards smaller more fuel efficient cars made by other companies, and right now no one has the money or credit to buy cars (or just about anything else).

Out of GM, Ford, and Chrysler, I'll bet that at least two of them go bankrupt.  These companies are burning through too much cash for a bailout to save them.  They really need to restructure, regroup, get rid of their unions, and get back to the drawing board--bankruptcy.  They might have better luck selling fast food.

First of all it isn't a "Big 3" bailout because only GM and Chrysler actually took out a loan. Ford saw the light three years ago and slowed production of their suvs and cancelled the Excusion to have some cash reserve left over. But as far as Gm and Chrysler, that mismanagement all of the way. Putting too much money into suv production when they should have focused on making high quality, fuel efficent cars. The new Ford cars are getting high reviews and the 2010 Taurus looks awesome and nothing like its rental elder version. The new Fusion hybrid will get an average of 41 mpg, and that is better than the Camry hybrid. Hopefully they can turn it all around, because I'd hate to see all of those jobs lost.
