Well you're right about atheism. It's the lack of a religion, so in many ways you're right. Anti-theism is a dislike for religion so that one's more of a stretch.

No, not really. Theism is not about religion. It's strictly about a belief... in a god.

I suppose pro-gay, and not sure on religion. I don't have a problem with religion itself, but a major problem with many religious followers.

Anti gayness,my "religion" is aganst it.
-- Posted by Baron Samedi at 4:09 pm on Nov. 20, 2008
Pro-gay, anti religion. Not just christianity either. Christianity, Islam, Judaism, all of it. It's all part of the same cancer on humanity. If I could press a button that would immediately wipe every religious believer off the face of the earth, I'd press it without a second of remorse. Then the rest of the world could begin again, without religion shitting all over everything. Hell, if I could wipe out all of humanity, I'd go through with it. Let the planet carry on without us fucking the place up. Don't mind me, I'm having one of my "burn fucking everything" days.

That's not her point. Atheism only refers to lack of belief in gods, not lack of religion. Someone could thus be a religious atheist (ie: the Dalai Lama).

A fair and valid point. I assume this also extends to anti-theism. However, the original comment that theism, atheism and anti-theism was not related to religion was abstract and incorrect. I've made my point; you've made yours.

Except... I didn't say it wasn't related to religion, I said it wasn't about religion. And your post that I replied to stated that 'atheism' was "lack of religion" and 'anti-theism' was a "dislike of religion". Properly defined they would be "lack of a belief in (a) god(s)" and "against the belief in (a) god(s)". A minor point I'll admit, but still a valid one I believe.
