My real answer is Vicodin is a brand of Hydrocodone. It's a painkiller.

It's a painkiller, though also known for it's more illicit purposes.

It's nothing more than a painkiller.

Hydrocodone is a semi-synthetic opioid. It is a rather strong pain killer. It is combined with acetaminophen, commonly known as Tylenol. Usually comes in doses of 2.5, 5, 7.5, or 10mg, with between 300-750mg of acetaminophen. Usually the lower the dose of hydrocodone the higher the dose of acetaminophen. It is often perscribed after surgeries, for back pains, or after some semi-serious injury.
