I have an insane amount of work to do for school. Because I'm so behind I feel like all of this work is crushing me and I can't do it. Is motivation, or lack there of, something you're born with or can I get it?

I have lots of work as well. I was sick a few days and everything just piled up! D:

You have to realize why it is important to do well in school and meet deadlines. Until those things truly mean something to you, you probably won't have enough motivation to achieve them. I struggle with that too.

Ignore the big picture, select a specific assignment, and finish it. Wash, rinse and repeat.

What I've been doing (I was sick for like three weeks.) is just doing a little bit every week. I'm still catching up, but I think doing a bit every weeks is much more effective than doing it all in bulk. Take it easy, plan it out and make sure you don't fall behind in your schoolwork more than you are because you're catching up. Best just to keep on top of what you're doing in class currently and catching up in your own time.

Do a list of all your work, then as you do each bit cross it off. It helps 'cus you get motivated to do it.

It's hard to become motivated with anything related to work...for me anyway. Too much work, for almost nothing in return. There's nothing to be motivated for.
