Often people are calm before they do it. It really varies per person. For awhile I would talk about it but then I shut up because people were completely misunderstanding my problems and reacting in ways that made them worse. You can certainly tell when someone is depressed if you know them well enough or to some degree in those you know less well if you have enough experience to 'sense' it, but suicide is a separate thing. -- Posted by aliens at 6:42 am on Nov. 21, 2008 There are no ways of telling.
