so if you lose too much weight you are put into hospital.

so why does the same not apply for people who are OVER weight? why are they not locked up? over eating is technically an ED

Good question.

I think it's probably, because people don't put on weight on purpose.

Agreed.

Because people who are at a dangerously low weight can die if they don't get help and unless some people are morbidly obese or obese, not just overweight, they don't need all that much help
However, obese people may be treated as outpatients but not inpatients as they are not at so much risk of dying
And in response to the post above, not all anorexic people are all that overly aware that they are actually losing weight (distorted body image) hence continuing to lose more weight

Because some of my friends use this site and as ridiculous as that sounds, they already have some suspicion that I have had past problems with an ED so I don't want them thinking I have because I know about it, if that makes any sense?

Because what someone said above, most overweight people aren't intending to become obese (though it can, in some cases, be a result of their eating habits and lifestyle). It is still a health issue, but most people who suffer from Anorexia Nervosa or Bulimia Nervosa are losing the weight on purpose, and continue to lose the weight because they typically hold a distorted body image (i.e., they continue to think they are fat regardless of what medicine may say they are).

they do put really fat people in hospitals....sometimes....fat people should if they keep gaining weight progressively and not losing any or staying the same weight

But I think that they should do it because no one wants to see that
