So i know conversation is like the whole basis of everything and getting to know people but ive never considered myself good at it. im a shy person, and as my boyfriend put it today i often go unnoticed. im starting to be more outgoing but i dont sit down with any more than 2 people that are my close friends and actually have deep or funny conversations, ever.
so me and my boyfriend are at lunch or outside, and just hugging, and not talking, and i feel stupid. we just havent had a lot of chances to talk about i dont know, life.

and i feel like its my fault, so it bugs me.
so, is this a big deal?
should i try to make more conversation with him, or is it okay to just leave it alone?
i just need someone to understand where im coming from. im feeling a bit lost.

try to think of things to say before you see him.  just tell him random stuff that happened to you during the day, or maybe just ask him questions to get the convo going

You don't have to be talking all of the time.  I admit that with my girlfriend, that there are more silences than I would like.  But those are the opportunities you take to just look at each other.  Sometimes just holding each other says more than words.

But you gotta balance it out with conversation.  I don't call them awkward silences, because for every time we're not talking, there's another time where we're talking to each other about our lives, our pasts, what made us like each other, and just our day.

I don't think it's that horrible advice to think about things to talk about before hand.  It sounds kind of weird, but it's totally fine to think of things that have been going on with you to talk to your bf about, as well as things that you want to ask him about his day, before you meet up, to facilitate smoother conversation.
