-- Posted by GdFtherOFCOWS at 8:24 pm on Nov. 25, 2008 So I update my Nvidia 8800 GT card to the newest driver, and all of a sudden my computer goes to shit.  I get blue screens semi frequently, and if I try to play any full screen game, the whole computer shuts down. No worries, I told my self, I will just roll back to my last driver install.   This stopped the BSoDs, but I still cannot play full screen games for more than a few minutes without my computer turning off.  Not just exit the game, but turn off the whole computer. I don't know what nTune is. Do you have onboard? You sure it's not your power supply fan or cpu fan?   get into the BIOS and see if they get readings. BIOS settings (for the motherboard, not the card) make sure theres nothing weird going on there... I was thinking under-clocking it (which would be like over-clocking, but you would lower the speed instead, which would reduce heat and performance issues) just because that would verify that its not heat. Since you dont have experience with clock speed, I would recommend you just not try right now. And when you updated the drivers you should have uninstalled the previous drivers first as several people have had this problem before. I got a 9800gtx and its awesome, consumes less power and is slighty more powerful. maybe you can try getting a new card as that might be an issue as the new drivers might have damaged it
