now im paranoid! i read in an article from a book, Hypoglycemia: The Classic Healthcare Handbook, talking about mercury in the body, as says that mercury amalgam filling, which are in the mouths of 85% of americans, leak mercury into your body and cause a lot of problems. i found it interesting when it says "Most state dental boards forbid dentists to tell their patients about the toxicity of the mercury in amalgam fillings". anyone else freaking out now?

made in 1980, but REVISED in 2002. so i guess it's still a problem. and that's not true, heart attacks almost kill you and permantly weaken you. lol...simpsons.

This is pure just thinking but I am going to guess that mercury used in fillings is an older practice. Also fillings have gone down thanks to dental break throughs and flouride in some dirnkign water ect. So the 85% could easily be made up of older people with fillings.

That's kind of... unsettling that they would lie to their patients.

if your sensitive to it then it could actually give you mental problems...

A lot of people had fillings, none of them died from it.

people used to DRINK mercury in small doses. I don't think the tiny, tiny, tiny amount of mercury that may/or may not be in your fillings would really do much damage AT ALL. Besides, who the hell gets amalgam fillings anymore. We get those white composite fillings now.

Mercury hasn't been used in fillings for a long time. In the UK, at least. I'd've thought that the same would apply to the US, especially given your addiction to cosmetic dentistry - why would anyone want an "ugly" mercurial filing which isn't the same colour as their teeth (FFF white ofc)?

so they've already leaked mercury and now you decide to be concerned about this
