Am I the only one who thinks of highschool friends are often nothing more but leeches who cling to each other so they aren't seen as outcast within a schools 'caste system',?

If you have true friends, then it's not like that.

I don't share the opinion.

Not really. I don't use my friends to have friends if that's what you're saying.

I don't think my friends are like that. I only associate myself with genuine people. If you're fake then thats an automatic shun.

Naaaaa, my high school friends were awesome. My best friend is the closest person in the world to me, I love her and tell her everything, she wasn't social status tool for me.

Yeah, I'd have to agree. Seems that way. It's so hard to find a true friend, and in high school we're all bitches out for one thing, we want to crawl our way to the top. You never really know who's there for you until you reach out and they let you fall. Learn your leason!

It sad sometime you may not be using them but how you know they not using you?

You use people in all relationships. In your teenage years having friends saves you in a way, because you know that they are there for you and can relate to you. But when you grow up you don't need that anymore. You need people to challenge you and love you, not to make it through one shitty year after another.

I'm still friends with all of my friends from highschool.

I think that a great number of people use friends in this way.

There are people within my group of "friends" who are just together to make each other look cool (combining weed, cigarettes and skinny jeans to try and give a general scene image out)

It's pretty lame.

Is this because you have no friends?
