To be suicidal, not to commit suicide, but to be suicidal?

-- Posted by The Fantasy at 7:13 am on Dec. 1, 2008

no of  course not.

The reason I ask is I was raised catholic and to think about committing a sin is just as bad as actually committing it.  Not that I'd ever try anything stupid.

no its not a sin to be suicidal or i would be sinful

It is a sin to commit suicide, but as you say catholism teaches thinking about a sin is as sinful as commiting it.

I went to a Catholic school for nine years and I was always taught that thinking about committing a sin or wanting to isn't a sin unless you actually do it.

I i said in a reply to a similar question earlier. Suicide is a natural thought, but an unnatural action. I think most teens think about suicide, but don't attempt it. Whatever problems you have will soon pass, seek help. Talk to a professional about your problems, it really does help.

I wasn't really raised religious, but I went to a private school for a while, and we were taught that thinking about a sin, was the same as doing it.

-- Posted by Shania1 at 7:43 am on Dec. 1, 2008

nope only if u actually do it.

I hate how schools impose thoughts onto students....thinking about a sin, is completely different to doing it.....i think about robbing banks and being rich all the time.....but the police havnt put me in jail for it...lol nor am i rich ...yet...
