i dont understand why so many of certain kinds of babies are still being born in developed countries?

why do you think it is?

-- Posted by dreamweaver at 4:06 pm on Dec. 1, 2008

Because the parents still have a choice in whether or not they want to keep the baby.

yeah exactly. they have a choice.

so why do they keep it? i dont get it.

Just because an unborn baby is diagnosed with something does not mean that they are going to be aborted.  Many women don't feel right aborting their child, no matter what condition they may have.

Chldren who are mentally ill and cannot be 'fixed'  should not be born.

sounds mean right?
Well it is MORE selfish and mean when you let them live suffering what you cannot comprehend, the pain they go thru just so you can keep them alive for your selfish needs is insane.

My cousin has microcephaly and can barely walk at 8. My aunt and uncle had all the testing done but nothing showed up abnormal. Sometimes you just can't tell.

i dont really agree that it's neccessarily selfish

children with say downs syndrome and good parents are mostly very happy people.

i just think the parents are stupid to go through the trouble of raising them.

kinds of babies?

-- Posted by whoami111 at 4:11 pm on Dec. 1, 2008

because many find it is immoral to kill a human life.

There are people who want to have babies.  They want to have children.  They want to be parents.  They feel that their family is not complete without children.

You'd be surprised at how much love you can have when you're expecting a child. No matter what is wrong.

Children who have been screened and found to contain certain defects does not mean that the mother will not love it any less than she did before. That child is a part of both her and the father, and no matter what she decides (pro-life or pro-choice) it's her choice. To accuse otherwise is trying to enforce your opinion onto others who don't want it.
