portfoward.com gives you instructions on your exact router model.

IP addresses are pretty well useless. You send your IP to every single site you visit.

no he didn't. 192.168.1.1 is an internal network IP address for his router. we can't use that IP for anything since we're not on his network. anyway, yeah i recommend portforward.com and asking specific questions if you encounter any problems following their instructions. they've got the guides made pretty user friendly
