About how long should a college admissions essay be?  I've already got most of one, but on the last word count it was like ...600 words, and I realized that I have no idea how long it should be.
Thanks.

600 words is about right. Try not to go over 2 pages double spaced.

I would say around 600 is good.  Usually they'll give you a limit on how long it can be.  If not, I would say that 500-800 would be pretty decent.

I wrote a 650 word essay yesterday in like 15 minutes.. but I'm good at writing when I want to be. 600 seems around ok for college

Thanks guys.  Yeah, it's for the commonapp which just says "250 word minimum."

Haha, I hate it when they do that.  But if they say 250 word minimum, then I would say that 500-600 is good.  I wouldn't go too much longer than that if it can be helped.

Lol, would it be so hard for them to put a maximum too?

Haha, inorite?  I mean, it's already taken me forever to figure out what to write about, and there are really no guidelines...at all.  Roar, aha.

Haha, yeah... I really hated the common application when I was doing.  Other schools had better guidelines, and would tell you about how long it should be and stuff... but I guess the questions are almost always pretty broad... :(.

Lol, I'm glad to be done with them :P.  Good luck to you.

Depends on the college.  Common app I'd say 500-700, so you're perfect.
