...can we have a button where we can reply to what it said? Keeping it anon, of course.

-- Posted by noraa at 10:01 am on Dec. 7, 2008

That would be really amazing. Because honestly, when the person is anon, you can't PM them and when they reply to your eHelp reply you're sort of at a loss. There should be a place to have a full conversation.

-- Posted by major at 10:01 am on Dec. 7, 2008

the support leaders know your screen name when you file an ehelp, and you know theirs when you get their response. If you file an E-help anonymously, you don't receive a message, so I don't know what you're asking.

-- Posted by greatescape at 10:02 am on Dec. 7, 2008

I really would support this.  I get follow up questions in anon ehelps all the time and there's nothing I can do to get back to them.  I feel bad just ignoring it :(

I don't know how hard this would be to implement in the messaging system but I think it would be really beneficial

If they want to talk to you more, or get more support from you, then they should come to you directly.  Replying to the written feedback is a bad idea, imo.

Someone gave me feedback elaborating on my eHelp then asked me for advice, I can't help him/her because I don't know who he/she is !

If somebody posts one anonymously, and then they respond with the feedback thingy to your eHelp, there's no way of contacting them to keep the conversation going.

Some super-new people don't know any better and think they'll get a response somehow.

Yes, but often enough people see that as an easy way of doing it. They already received a message why send another? It's just easier.

1 Not all members catch on to this.

2. It would be nice if there was a way they could stay anonymous.

-- Posted by Just Waiting Here at 10:05 am on Dec. 7, 2008

Yeah, I've always felt like that... even if they have their name up, I rarely PM them though, because they may not want to talk more on the subject.

I only ever really want to respond back when they ask a question or something... and that sucks when they are anonymous, lol.

I wasnt correcting your grammar.  You receive a message back even if you file an anon ehelp

Then make it so they can anonymously message us from the eHelp center.  If I posted an eHelp anonymously and someone wrote back to the feedback I gave them, I'd be really pissed.

lol it changed since the last time i was active, i think
i was always under the impression that the anonymous replies had to be sifted through in the eHelp forum

That's not what I was asking about, I was asking often the members use it to continue the problem. My recent example someone said "Maybe I should take a step back and see the bigger picture, but then what?" because it was anon the conversation ended there, thus I can't help anymore.

You could copy that question, paste it into an eHelp reply, and then answer from there?

-- Posted by major at 10:12 am on Dec. 7, 2008

what you're asking for is a system of messaging anonymous
which i don't think will be implemented any time soon.
i get it now, and it's too much.

So is this the proper way to do it now?  I have honestly thought about doing this.  But wasn't sure.

That's what I've done if I've ever been in that situation. Seen other SLs doing the same thing too.

I don't think that we really need to reply to what is said in the message via another message, when replying to the eHelp again works fine.

I mean, it's not official, but it seems practical, doesn't it?

But it would make the reply say that it's fully answered, with two replies, so they wouldn't get other responses.

I tend to look at eHelps regardless of whether they are new or not to see if there is anything I can add. Am I the only one who does this?

Generally the still beeping ones are addressed first.

No, you're just incredibly lazy as an SL.
