Or it could be a broader term referring to a political shift to the left in a government. An example of the latter: The election of Barack Obama signifies the climax of a growing liberal revolution in U.S. politics. or in the case of the first: The results of Bolivia's 2002 presidential elections were over turned by a revolt staged in the lower class in the name of Nationalizing the oil economy.
