And drink lots of water. -- Posted by Helios at 11:25 pm on Dec. 7, 2008 Yes...if you are new to taking it then it can cause stomach irritability. try taking it after food or with milk instead of water -- Posted by nik1 at 12:45 am on Dec. 8, 2008 Although I think Mucinex is effective in drying up drainage in your head the smell of it is enough to make you puke.  I can't stand to touch one of the pills and have to swallow it with peanut butter to keep from becoming nauseous from the smell of it.
