This is a poll to give us all an idea of which browser the majority of LiveWire users are using to view LiveWire on the Internet. It has been recreated with an updated list of browsers and download links. Below is a short description of each of the browsers. If you are unsure which browser you are using, the title of the browser will usually be in the address bar along the top of the window (where the minimise button, close button, etc are). Also, try going to the Help menu and choosing the 'About' option. You will see the name of your browser and the version number in there. Internet Explorer This browser is shipped Microsoft Windows. Therefore, if you have not actively downloaded a different browser, you are probably using this one. Version 6 is standard with Windows XP, and if you keep up-to-date with Windows Update, you probably have Version 7 by now. Mozilla Firefox Known by many as just Firefox, this is a free browser produced by the open-source community. Developers, many of whom are unpaid by Mozilla, contribute their own time and effort into creating this browser (in fact, approximately 50% of the code in the Firefox browser was written by unpaid volunteers). Version 3 was released on June 17th 2008, and in the 24 hour period following its release was downloaded over 8 million times worldwide. It is compiled and distributed by Mozilla Corporation. Firefox can be used on all of the three main platforms - Windows, OS X and various distributions of Linux. The current version number is 3.0.4. Safari This is the default browser for any computer produced by Apple (MacBook, iMac, etc). It is also the browser you will be using if you are connecting to the Internet using your iPhone or your iPod Touch. Safari has recently been released for Windows users. Opera This browser is produced by the Opera Software company. Currently at Version 9.62, it is the browser you will be using if you connect to the Internet using your Nintendo Wii or Nintendo DS consoles, and many other mobile devices such as phones and PDAs. Television set-top boxes will usually use a 'lite' version of Opera for any web services. Google Chrome This is a browser released by Google on 2nd September 2008, still in beta. It boats a separate process for each tab, so that if one tab crashes, the entire browser will not hang. It is rumoured that this browser will be included in the Google Android mobile phone platform. Chrome came out of beta on 11th December 2008. Download links: Internet Explorer: Version 7 (can also automatically obtain as a high-priority update through Windows / Microsoft Update) Mozilla Firefox: Version 3 Safari: Version 3.2 (Windows version; already exists on all Macs) Opera: Version 9.62 Google Chrome: Version 1

Google Chrome beta as my main browser. Firefox as my secondary, only because I'm having huge amounts of problems with it, and it needs a fresh install. The only other browser I use is my PS3 browser, and a bluetooth keyboard. It renders LW pretty nicely.

Firefox is the best. So much faster. Internet explorer should've never even been created.

Chrome is fast and works amazingly well on Vista (The entire top bar is translucent). Its interface is clean, polished, and just works how you would expect. IE is clunky and slow.

firefox 3..... anyone who uses the IE is just asking for their system to be infected... its has so many security holes.
