Why is it that most Canadians I'm friends with are pretty much obsessed with ice hockey?

I mean sure it's the greatest sport known to man and is pretty much the unofficial sport of Canada but technically baseball is known as America's sport and not many people like it.

Most Canadians seem to love it and I was just wondering are they born with skates or what?

probably.

I hate Ice Hockey. Street Hockey is better.
But yeah, there is winter here, so most of us know how to skate. So we play Hockey.

I don't like watching ice hockey. I'm not "obsessed" with the idea of the game either.

Why are most Americans obsessed with football?  Why is everyone else in the world obsessed with soccer?

-- Posted by Magnifique at 8:11 pm on Dec. 11, 2008

Because it's awesome. :)

coming from a person who lives in a climate that has 6 months of possible snow day weather, aswell as a pond to skate on in my backyard...

hockey's here, it's been around, you can't avoid it, and so you love it.

Almost every community gives people the oppertunity to play hockey, at a very young age, and most take it up, and if not, you watch it, because it's what's on T.V and is talked about.

I prefer playing Road Hockey, but watching Ice Hockey
