That's excellent!!

i thought that was normal

-- Posted by Ju5tin at 3:03 pm on Dec. 12, 2008

That's not TOO bad, kinda high, but not severe

-- Posted by ray503458 at 3:03 pm on Dec. 12, 2008

normal is 120/80...well technically 120/70. that one isn't too bad, except that youre young, you should be closer to 110/70..usually

if you have a rapid pulse, obesity, poor eating habits, stress, genetics, etc. it's not uncommon, or if you're african american, thats actually normal for an african american

I just found this- http://www.envisionnm.org/Files/toolsandresources/overweight/bpbmiboys_revised.pdf not sure if that helps.

Idk much about high bp. I know I have low bp.

Try not to worry about it too much until you've seen your Dr. I'm sure that wouldn't help.

Don't worry, that will just make it worse.  The ideal pressure usually is 100+age/80, so you should be around 116/80.  The top figure is when the heart contracts, and the bottom is when it relaxes.

Try relaxing, don't get stressed about things unduly.  Make sure you drink enough fluids, try not to smoke etc.

If it is still high in 2 weeks, the dr might put you on some blood pressure reduction medication, if he's concerned
