Drinking is a socially accepted form of intoxication b) you go out with your friends you roll a few joints, or you stuff a few water bottles, flip on a lighter and smoke up. but wait... you can't smoke weed b/c it is illegal. so we do it anyway in our basements and backyards and we're high just the same. Getting high is not a socially accepted form of intoxication. I don't see how you can fully identify a stream of society around one type of substance while perfectly banning the other. I also used to smoke outside bars and in bar patios and I was popular because I was quite generous. I'm not saying that's cool or anything but it is socially accepted a lot. Infact I feel stupid at times for risks I took but I was younger back then. for Maybe weed is more acceptable than booze in some cases because booze ruins a lot more lives. Drinking just isn't nearly as pleasant for most people.
