Tough to say because so many players back in the day had shorten careers. In the last 10 years, Tom Brady no doubt.

Exactly. He's so overrated because of his "Wrangler jeans" boy working in the yard look. No homo.

Barry Sanders. Not only was he a hell of a running back, but he was a perfect gentleman and never taunted anyone. He retired prematurely and could have easily gained a career rushing record. But he wasn't about stats. In one game, he was pulled at the end of the game and was only 10 yards short of the season rushing record. The coach asked him if he wanted to go back in to build his stats, but Barry refused. The only thing that was important to him was doing his job and picking up the win. One of the best and most admirable NFL players of all time. Not to mention, he played for the Lions his entire career and helped them slip into the playoffs a couple of times, and unlike most other greats mentioned in this topic, he didn't play on a team with any other Hall of Famers. I'm actually ashamed that only one other person in this topic mentioned him.
