Imagine you went to a restaurant or whatever and there was someone for example in this situation you're at a restaurant and the waiter does a *really* bad job at serving you... and she says:

"I don't get a tip?" and you tell them "Oh let me give you a tip: Get another job!!"

Too mean?

No , I think that's hilarious.

Nope.

-- Posted by SpM at 5:50 pm on Dec. 14, 2008

Not too mean, but not too funny either.

It depends.
If the waiter was being a dick about it, then it's not :)

thats mean but freakin hilarious.

Eh.

Thats a little harsh, but its not that mean if they really did do a shitty job.

I normally just explain to them how bad it was, and why it was bad. I mean, at least they will know why it was bad, and they might be able to make it not happen again.

Not too mean. She shouldn't have the audacity to ask you for a tip anyway.

-- Posted by justin1990rm at 5:53 pm on Dec. 14, 2008

not if they actually did a bad job and complained about not getting a tip

-- Posted by blackbandaid at 5:54 pm on Dec. 14, 2008

Haha. We don't tip here. But I think it's funny

a homeless guy asked us for change the other day, and my friend said to him 'i hear mcdonalds is hiring'

-- Posted by Gemmax at 5:58 pm on Dec. 14, 2008

yes

-- Posted by HuffleHaire at 5:59 pm on Dec. 14, 2008

Could have been funnier.

Regardless, not too mean.

My ex used to say "Here's a tip..stay outta dark alleys"

-- Posted by LudovicoTechnique at 6:04 pm on Dec. 14, 2008

Not too mean, she initiated the rudeness.

Personally, I think it's just downright rude to mock people like that. If you're not going to tip and the server actually inquires about it, the decent thing to do would be to tell them why their service failed so that they may improve upon it in the future.

Seriously, there's nothing amusing about giving a server the "tip" to get a new job. But hey, what more do you expect from kids? And teenagers often wonder why they get such shitty service...
