I have a friend who is about 165 lbs. She is 5.3 and 18 years old. She seems to think that she is skinny. Like she will say stuff about her body like she is skinny. ie: Like I have another overweight friend who sometimes will say they want to be skinny and this friend will pipe in and say "like me?" as if she has a desireable body when she is totally fat. (no offense) She thinks she has abs and is fit. Is this normal for someone who is so obviously overweight?

They're just delusional.

Eh, she's not obese, at least she's comfortable with her body, that's more than most people can say.

Ugh, girls like that make me sick.

It sounds sort of tongue-in-cheek to me. Like she's playing around. But it's hard to tell without actually knowing her.

it's because everyone's always nice to fat people. maybe one day you should just be like: "she said skinny, how does that have anything to do with you?" i have fat friends but they aren't delusional about it.

She can be big AND be looking good. Trust. I've seen some big girls who look sexier than some skinny girls. Now obviously her saying things that make her act like she's skinny is dumb, but at least she's comfortable with her body :>

ohh they know theyre fat. lol
-- Posted by ironicdreams at 9:36 pm on Dec. 15, 2008
I guess it's the same concept as anorexics thinking they are fat? Maybe to her, that is skinny. Just because society says it's not "skinny" doesn't mean she agrees.

She might be making a joke. Never considered that? I'm like 130lbs, 5'5, and sometimes I say that, but I don't mean it. But the way you claim it, she sounds like she's serious. But really, I doubt anyone is really that air-headed.

I think it's more denial than anything. They know they're not in the best shape, and I'm sure privately, they feel really bad about it, but nobody wants to come off as one of those types that just whines about being out of shape, so they try and convince themselves that they're not, at least around other people.

Fat people should be banned from earth.

Some people are so insecure about themselves and try so hard to convince themselves that they look good...that they actually start to believe it.

Its worse when they dress like it

Depends, what is fat for you? Because like seriously. Your definition of fat and my definition of fat may vary. Perhaps she is secure about herself, unlike others.
