I've been working out every day now for about four or five days and have been watching what I eat. I haven't had any soda, all I've been drinking is water, milk, and apple juice. The only bad thing I have, ever, is hot chocolate in the morning sometimes because it's the only thing that makes me feel good what with it being so cold out now and all.

All I've been eating is soup, chicken salads, and fruits. I'm not starving myself, though, trust me. I have one chicken salad and several pieces of fruit a day plus a bowl of soup and I actually feel better eating like this. I miss some of the other stuff but I don't get sick after eating anymore (I used to all the time) and I feel lighter.

Even though I lost a lot of weight a year ago, I just have this bad feeling that I won't this time for some strange reason. Do you think this will work, assuming I keep up with it?

dont thats stupid. your metabolism will slow down and acclimate to the low calorie intake. its called yo-yo dieting. the only good way to lose weight, is additional exercise. just dont eat like burgers and fries and shit with a ton of calories and you'll be fine. just exercise alot. but also dont be so concerned with your weight as much as your figure and if ur in shape.

you will sart seeing slight changes after about a month
so you gotta be pretty consistent with your calorie intake
keep it under 2000cal/day and youre set

Well, I suppose it's my figure that bothers me rather than my weight.

How is what I'm doing "stupid" though? Keep in mind that, firstly, I'm not starving myself so it's not like I'm anorexic and secondly, even if I'm doing something wrong, I'm still trying to get healthy so I think calling what I'm doing "stupid" is pretty stupid in and of itself.

And, anyways, I see thin girls surviving off of nothing more than salads and soup which is something I'm not interested in doing. I'm just trying to avoid stuff I know is bad. I had something with a little more calories in it this morning but have my limits. I won't eat fast food or junk food. It's just kind of hard eating here, there aren't many options and 3/4 of them are really really bad. We're talking french fries, onion rings, pizza, pasta, potato skins, etc.

You sound like you're managing your diet healthily. All you need to do is be patient and tone up gradually.

What your doing is you are taking in the minimum needed for your body to function.

Since we dont have any pictures of you or stats we dont have any real way to go off for a daily caloric intake. So lets assume your body needs 1500calories a day just to maintain itself. Lets say you are eating 1500... Throw in the extra exercise and you are burning say 250. Now you are down to 1250calories/day and your body needs 1500 that is starving yourself. Your body needs fuel, it needs healthy nutritional food.

Your body will begin to adapt to the low food intake and your metabolism will begin to slowdown and you will then just have to work harder to burn fat... The best thing you can do is keep eating the same amount of total food, but make it healthy food. Make it good fats, good carbs, no empty calories. Then add in some cardio few times a week and you will be losing fat and getting in shape in no time.
