You knew it was becoming really bad when you had to pay a lot for a downgrade to versions of XP. Im sure you will be able to go from XP to Win7, but its going to be the usual $100-180. Vista is good though. I would love a free or at least highly discounted version of Windows 7. Though I'm a complete fan of Apple, their commercials (though funny) bash Vista a bit too much. I am one of the only users that prefers it to XP. The only complaint I have is it's slow. When Windows 7 comes out, I will look for a way to get a cheap upgrade--I want the speed, not necessarily the features. EDIT: I'm glad that MS is making their operating system work better. Apple is doing the same thing with Snow Leopard. Technology is coming along so fast that there's not many more features people want besides speed.
