I just found out that I got a B in a class that I was sure that I got an A in. The professor told us that he curved the class so that the median was the cutoff point, meaning that half the class got an A. My exams put me well over that mark, though my problem sets might've brought me down a bit. I thought I did very well on my final, but I found out today that I got a B. So either one of two things could've happened: 1) I didn't do that well on the final. 2) A lot of the "dumber" kids dropped out of the class, raising the median. I'm disappointed. My GPA is middling, and I'm in a grade-inflated school.

I have no idea what MOST of that means...different schooling system. but i was sure i was going to get an A* in my maths. but got an A instead....6 marks off an A*. What a bitch that was, ha. I'm sorry for your apparent disapointment, but a B is good :D yay!

Hah, well, I got a 40 in a subject I expected to get 50 in, putting me in the top 20% (not as high as I expected, kay?). You did well though. A B isn't too bad at all.

That does suck, why not contact your professor and see how you did on the final. I'm almost in the same boat, got one teacher where his grades are basically arbitrary if he likes you or not, and I argue with him on a daily basis, so i'm not looking forward to that grade.

You got a B. Be happy with it, at worse that's average; depending on what your professor curves to.
