I'll take the hand built engine of the GTR then again I'm a jap fag.

-- Posted by IMPALA at 3:26 am on Dec. 23, 2008

The ZR1's LS9 engine is hand built, as is the Z06's LS7..

The engine will be hand-built at GM's Performance Build Center in suburban Detroit, the same plant that hand-builds the LS7 V8 used in the Corvette Z06

Corvette, the new GTR is fail.

-- Posted by IMPALA at 10:13 am on Dec. 23, 2008

it is win.

If I had to drive it every day, I'd take the GTR. If I had to race it every day, vette.

I was cruising back from college the other day, and I ran into a brand new (30 day tags still) black GTR. Couldn't find the camera fast enough.....but pictures don't do it justice anyway.

I'm still a jap fag though.  But I didn't know the vettes engine was hand built, that knocks it up a few points on the respect-o-meter.

Meh. They just managed to build a good name in the past to carry their lame cars of today

ZR-1 of course.  I would end up voiding the warranty on the first day of owning a GT-R (launch control).

-- Posted by LoveKay at 2:43 pm on Dec. 23, 2008

GTR, you ass. How can you even make a person choose when the other option is a corvette?! Ugh, pathetic!!

Relax man its his opinion.

and theres no proof on what you just said.

Condisering the 08s are blowing transmissions left and right with the launch control and how doing ANYTHING burns a hole in the ECU and voids your warranty.. I will pass. The GTR without launch control (nissan removed LC because the tranny cant handle it) is a high 11 second car. The zr1 is a low 11 second car out of the box and is a LOW LOW 10 second car with some slicks. With a little tuning, catless exhaust, pulley upgrade and ported blower they very well could break into the 9s and are a 10.0xx car with light work.

the $106k zr1 just beat out the $335k, enzo powered 599 in a comparison test. zr1 is 0.1 slower to 60 but is a half second quicker in the quarter mile. Held 1.10gs on the skid pad vs the ferraris 0.95 and molested it in the slalom.

That vette will take whatever you give it and beg for more, the gtr is a great DD but it is boring to drive and doesnt feel fast.

This is coming from someone who has actually been to the track with a gtr and have recieved a pretty solid overview on the zr1 but havent managed to meet anyone who has picked one up yet. (east coast gets cars wayyyy later and very few, if any are avaliable at a dealer right now without cash up front or special ordering)
