If it's faint, that's just the to do with the way these tests work. The question here is whether or not that is discernible. It depends on what you call a discernible line, but at least in the medical field the line needs to be prominent (perhaps not equal in colour intensity), and not faint. A faint line can appear just be the passage of the liquid through the medium. At least when my dad did a blood test for a bacterial infection from my aunt, a fait line could be seen, but nowhere near the strength of the control line, and it was ruled as negative for the bacteria. I'd say it's negative, BUT...a lot of times a home pregnancy test will show negative. You can only be sure with by going to the doctor and taking a blood or a pee test.
