Okay, so I got a gift card for Christmas, and I was thinking about getting the Ipod Touch but I've heard that there are alot of problems and defects with it.  So do you any of you know if there are still issues with it at this point and time or has Apple fixed most of them?

Where is this giftcard for? Is it specifically Apple?

eh it still seems kind of unreliable if you ask me, I'd go with a regular iPod
I actually like those better anyway

Well the thing you have to remember is that the Touch is like 90% novelty, 10% reliability.
If you want an iPod, go for a Classic. A lot of space, and the proven reliability of the iPod franchise.
